Tri-Tip Rub

This rub is very similar to one I used a couple of months ago, however, the proportions are a little different. It was good but I used thin steaks and I think the rub overpowered the meat a little. So, my advice is to use this on a thicker cut of steak. Makes 6 servings.

3 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
2 pounds tri tip roast

Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil grate.
In a medium bowl, combine garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix together and coat both sides of tri tip.
Sear both sides on hot grill then cook 20-25 minutes or until center is light pink. Slice at an angle.
